LGBT Wedding at Baja Sandbridge

Kelly Marie Photography and myself Met with Kat and Cindy in early December 2014 for the first time. They became such a great couple to work with and we immediately hit it off once they saw our 1970 VW Bus; they HAD TO HAVE IT IN THEIR CEREMONY as they are avid VW Bus lovers!

LGBT Wedding nerves!

I never realized how important it is to same sex couples to get married until I DJ’d my first LGBT wedding. One of the first questions from Kat was “This is a same sex wedding, would you be ok with DJing it and your wife as the photographer?”  I didn’t hesitate for a second when I told them we were absolutely ok with it!

I must admit that this being my first LGBT wedding I was a bit nervous. I wanted to be extra sure the brides had an exceptional wedding and I made my announcements correctly so the night would flow smoothly as I do for all couples. Giving every couple I DJ for the absolute best in wedding DJ service is my ultimate goal. The brides knew this was mine and Kelly’s first LGBT wedding and they were so easy going about it. We sat in our office and had plenty of laughs regarding how to introduce the ladies of the night and other wedding plans throughout the day and evening. In our pre-wedding meetings (both by phone and in person) the brides and I put the event timeline together, planning form and one of the best music lists I’ve had in awhile (put together of course by both brides, I had no input on the music list). After the cocktail hour, we had the Grand Introduction of the Best People and went straight to the first dance, just like we would any other wedding. The rest of the night was excellent! The guests had a blast dancing so much so that the wedding reception went 3 hours longer than originally planned. But I didn’t mind, in fact I loved it! So congratulations to Kat and Cindy Vinson whom I greatly enjoyed being a part of their special day! It was our honor. =)
